Education is the key to empowering women and girls, which helps bring about social equality. Girls’ education programme works on improving lives and providing opportunities for girls and women through increased participation in formal and alternative education systems. The program builds on innovative pilot projects and strategic partnerships developed by NGO over the last decade.

NGO works to help girls’ complete primary education and access formal schools through accelerated learning methodology and provide academic support to enhance the quality of learning. We also help nurture leadership skills amongst girls and offer alternative education opportunities for women and girls who have never been enrolled or have dropped out early from school.

Environment

The Consequences of the Environmental pollution are not hard to comprehend, whereas the solution to ending environmental pollution is not easy to come by this is an unending complex and intricate debate and may be single solution, however attempts can always be made to find out solution to specific problems keeping in view the technological solutions legal parameters and judicial pronouncements & the role of NGO’s has a very important to protection of environment through social services. The NGO’s from past five decades have witnessed the difficult problems encountered in providing health care services to our poor people; spread the awareness to public protection of wildlife, forest, human right, Women and Children etc.

 Health

Delivering healthcare to over a billion people is a very complex challenge. NGO Himachal Pradesh works in close collaboration with Distt and other partner organisations to secure accessible and quality maternal and child healthcare among marginalised communities. We work towards identifying the root causes of healthcare challenges, provide innovative solutions, and help implement secure and quality healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh.

 Agriculture

With the continuous increase in the number of organic activities and farmers through various projects in Himachal Pradesh, a great need was felt to constitute an organization to promote, coordinate, the dispersed organic activities and efforts for Organic Farming in the state.

 Women Empowerment

Working for gender equity and women’s rights has been one of NGO major commitments. This option holistically addresses the issue of violence against women. It was realised that a fresh intervention strategy within the Criminal Justice System was needed to be addressed collectively. Violence against women both in the public and the domestic sphere is on the increase and most women get very little or no redressal to their problems on reaching a police station. It was felt that in the absence of any specialised training of the police or civil society institutions to handle the psychological and social needs of the victims, the women seeking assistance were further victimised. Cases of violence against women (VAW) not only need multiple interventions but a shift in approach, to give the women the right to make an informed choice when subjected to violence.

Information & Technology NGOs harness the power of innovative new technologies and put them to use for common causes. While many of these organizations focus on improving access to information, many of the leading information & technology NGOs have come up with various ingenious ways to put technology to work in the name of human rights. Although the field is young, the successes of many of the first information & technology NGO pioneers are sure to encourage the growth of new ventures.
